In the study of reproductive medicine (i.e oocytes and embryology), developmental biology (model organisms i.e. zebrafish, C. elegans or Drosophila), or regenerative medicine (i.e. stem cells), cultured cells and embryos are observed, selected and transferred to other culture dishes to facilitate further study.
